Increase in Dengue cases in Noida and Ghaziabad

Dengue Cases: The number of patients with dengue symptoms at hospitals in Noida and Ghaziabad has been rising.

Private hospitals in Noida reported receiving at least 4-5 patients every day with high fever and diarrhea. In Noida, there are now approximately 60 cases.

Ten beds at the district hospital and five beds at each of the community health centers have been set aside for dengue patients, and the health department and the Noida Authority have begun citywide fogging drives.

Approximately 30 patients are reported to the OPD with symptoms similar to viral fever, according to the doctors at the district combined hospitals, and some of these patients have severe symptoms that could be dengue and are being advised to get tested.

The recent rains in Delhi and the NCR are expected to increase mosquito populations, which will lead to an increase in dengue patients. In order to keep track of cases reported in private clinics and hospitals, the private facilities have been asked to report dengue-positive patients to the CMO office every three days. To keep track of the precise number of cases in the districts, the health departments will cross-check 10% of the samples from all the tests.

Signs and Symtoms of Dengue Fever

  • Abrupt onset of high fever

Precautionary measures to be taken

  • At least once a week, drain the water from coolers and other small containers
  • Use aerosol during the day to keep mosquitoes away
  • Avoid exposing your arms or legs by wearing full sleeves clothing.
  • Use mosquito nets or mosquito repellents while sleeping during day time
