In the Emerging Teams Asia Cup final on Sunday, Pakistan A defeated India A by a margin of 128 runs thanks to Tayyab Tahir’s outstanding century.

Pakistan won the tournament for the second time in a row with this victory. After being given the opportunity to bat by India A, Pakistan A’s batsmen put on an impressive performance, scoring 352 for 8 in the allotted 50 overs.

Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek Sharma’s 64-run partnership gave India A an impressive start, after Sudharsan controversial dismissed India’s batting collapsed as the team lost wickets frequently. Yash Dhull, 39 off 41 deliveries offered some resistance, but the run rate was so high that he had no choice but to go for big hits. India lost its way and was bowled out for 224 after he was dismissed.

Tahir stole the show with a brilliant 108 off just 71 deliveries, including 12 boundaries and 4 sixes. He was the star of the performance. His outstanding performance served as the catalyst for Pakistan A’s convincing victory. While in bowling front, Mohammad Wasim Jr. (2/26), Mehran Mumtaz (2/30), and Arshad Iqbal (2/34) each claimed two wickets, Sufiyan Muqeem (3/66) took three Indian wickets.

 

Everything went wrong for India after they won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. This was an odd choice given that the chasing team had already dropped eight games in the competition.
