Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani,77, found dead in his Pune apartment, may have died 3 days ago

Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani body was found dead in his Talegaon home near Pune on Friday.

According to a senior police official, Actor assumed to have passed away three days earlier. The veteran actor’s body will be given to the family for final rites after his autopsy, the officer added.

Actor’s body was found after neighbours raised concerns about a foul smell coming from the house. As per a senior official of Talegaon Dabhade police station, Ravindra Mahajani was living alone in a flat when the neighbours of the building called to notify us for a foul smell coming from his home. We arrived at the scene and forced open the apartment door where he was discovered dead.

 

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Mahajani appeared in a number of Marathi movies as an actor. With the 1969 movie “Saat Hindustani,” Mahajani made his acting debut. He has appeared in 19 movies over the course of a more than 50-year career. His acting credits as a character actor include “Mumbaicha Fauzdar,” “Zunj,” and “Kalat Nakalat”. He last appeared in the Ashutosh Gowariker-directed historical drama “Panipat” from 2019.

Ravindra Mahajani son Gashmeer Mahajani is also an actor of Marathi industry known for movies like ‘Mala Kahich Problem Nahi’, ‘Dharmaveer’, ‘Muskurake Dekh Zara’. He also appeared in TV shows ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’, ‘Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal’ and Imlie.

 

A few well-known people paid their respects to the deceased actor on Twitter. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and NCP president Sharad Pawar also wrote heartfelt posts for late actor.
