‘Sex Scandal’: Goa minister Mauvin Godinho filed a police complaint, woman’s husband claims accusations made on social media are false

Office of Goa minister Mauvin Godinho filed a police complaint on Sunday in response to a “derogatory” and “false” message and images that were being shared on social media and linked his name to a female deputy sarpanch of a village in the state.

According to the complaint, pictures of Godinho with a female deputy sarpanch of a village in the Dabolim constituency began to circulate on social media platforms on Saturday along with a derogatory and false message.

Godinho, a member of the governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is the assembly representative for the Dabolim district. He oversees the Panchayat and Transport Ministries.

The complaint also stated, “The message is being circulated along with publicly available photographs of Godinho, thereby creating a wrong and erroneous impression to the readers about the attribution of the said message and photographs to Godinho.”

“Some politicians have also attempted to capitalize on this blatantly false and false impression created by the message to cause unrest and derive political mileage out of this patently false and mischievous message.”, complaint includes.
