“Shiv Shakti” and “Tiranga” name given to landing site of Chandrayaan 3 and Chandrayaan 2

Prime Minister Modi announces, “Shiv shakti” will be the name of the Chandrayaan 3 lander’s Moon landing site.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that Chandrayaan 3’s touchdown will be known as “Shiv Shakti”. The prime minister also declared that the site where Chandrayaan 2 left its footprints will be known as “Tiranga” while addressing the ISRO personnel involved with the nation’s third lunar mission in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

He said, “This is India, which thinks innovatively and uniquely,” while speaking at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network Mission Control Complex. This is the India that travels to dark places and spreads light throughout the world.

This is not just any accomplishment, he said; it is a thunderous declaration of India’s scientific prowess in the boundless universe. I was in South Africa, then in Greece, but I was thinking of you (scientists),” he continued.

After arriving at the ISRO office, PM Modi greeted the scientists and gave ISRO Director S. Somanath a warm embrace. The ISRO director also gave him a briefing on the Chandrayaan 3 mission while outlining various project models.

Modi spoke to those waiting for him at the city’s HAL airport before making his way to the ISRO office. PM Modi said outside the airport, “I could not stop myself as I was not in the country, but I decided to visit Bengaluru first and meet our scientists right after visiting India.
