Yamuna water reaches near Supreme Court, above danger mark!

Yamuna water reaches near Supreme Court, remains over danger mark 10.

Water from the Yamuna River is still entering Delhi through a regulator breach, worsening the city’s already dire flooding situation.

Floodwater from the Yamuna on Thursday night came dangerously close to the Supreme Court because of the potential for drain backflow. Near the Supreme Court, Mathura Road and Bhagwan Das Road had some flooding.

Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, claimed that a regulator for the Irrigation and Flood Control Department still had a breach allowing  Yamuna River water to enter. The already dire situation was made worse when the regulator was damaged close to the Indraprastha bus stand and the WHO Building on Drain No. 12

AAP Leader Bharadwaj, the minister of irrigation and flood control in the Delhi government, hurried to the scene Thursday night to monitor the developing situation.

Delhi Government stated, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj is currently on the scene and overseeing the entire situation per Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s instructions. He is setting up every resource that can be used to manage the flow.
